What is SHDSL?
Like ADSL, SHDSL provides the ability to use a normal telephone line to connect to the Internet at high speeds.
However, unlike ADSL which only provides high speed download, but slower upload speeds, SHDSL provides the same high speed in each direction. SHDSL can provide upload speeds of over 10 times faster than AlwaysONLINE ADSL services.
SHDSL is ideal for offices needing to send files, host video content, or be accessed via remote desktop sessions from smaller offices or teleworkers.
How fast is SHDSL?
AlwaysONLINE provides a range of SHDSL services at up to 4Mbps upstream and 4Mbps downstream. Speed depends on your physical location, so be sure to contact us for a quotation with your site's phone number for an accurate quote.

What equipment do I need?
SHDSL routers and modems are different to ADSL routers and modems, and are not interchangable. AlwaysONLINE can supply Cisco SHDSL routers, or SHDSL WICs for existing WIC capable routers your company may have in use.
Also SHDSL requires a dedicated phone line. To activate SHDSL, a phone line which can be converted from voice to data is required. This may be a new phone line, or an unused line currently connected to your PBX.
